Annual Sports Day 2023

The 7th Annual Sports Day at Hindustan International School, Padur was held on 05 Aug 2023 in our School Grounds. It was an exciting and enjoyable day filled with various sports and activities. The event brought together students, teachers, and parents to cheer on the participants and create a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie.

The programme began with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Colonel Jobee Philip accompanied by his wife Dr Lulu Jobee. They were welcomed by our School Band and NCC Cadets.

The Dean of Academics also graced the occasion with his presence along with our Deputy Director Mr. Salim Mahmood and the Registrar Mr Suresh G.

The Sports Day commenced with the Prayer Song followed by the Welcome Speech by Our School Head boy Master Harshavardhan. A vibrant and energetic Welcome Dance was performed by the students of Grades VI and VII. The mesmerizing performance set the tone for the day and filled the audience with excitement.

Event Highlights:

There was March Past from all the four houses. It was a splendid sight to behold. It not only showcased the students’ physical discipline and teamwork but also instilled a sense of pride and belonging within each participant. The event fostered a strong sense of house spirit and unity.

It was followed by the flame lighting ceremony, in which, the torch was carried by students who have best performed in the sports competitions at different levels. The Sports Captain, Jason Paul lit the flame and followed by Oath taking. The School Anthem was sung by the Students to bring in the Spirit of unity and true sportsmanship HIS family.

Pyramid Formation: Students from various classes participated in the Pyramid Formation event. The synchronized movements and impeccable coordination of the participants while forming human pyramids left the spectators amazed and applauding.

Yogasanas: Promoting the importance of physical and mental well-being, students showcased their flexibility and poise through various Yogasanas. The serene and composed display of yoga postures left a profound impact on the audience.

Karate Demonstration: A group of talented students, trained in Karate, demonstrated their martial arts skills. The audience was enthralled by the display of discipline, focus, and strength exhibited during the demonstration.

Equestrian Show: A special highlight of the Sports Day was the Equestrian show. It was a thrilling and impressive display of riding skills and horsemanship led by Aradhya from Grade 2, and Shreya from Grade 9.

The Chief Guest addressed the gathering. He said that when we win, we should be humble and think about those who lost and get them along as we get the medal. If we lose too donot forget to appreciate the winners as if they are not there then we could not be a part of the event and cannot compete.  The presence of such an esteemed personality motivated the participants and added prestige to the event.

The track and field events were the main attraction of the day. Students participated in various races, including relays, high jumps, and shot puts. The athletes exhibited their talent and athleticism, creating an electrifying atmosphere throughout the day.

The prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest to the winners to acknowledge the efforts and achievements of the participants. The winners were felicitated with medals and certificates. Nelson Mandela House bagged the prize for March past. The overall championship was won by Margaret Thatcher House. It was a remarkable achievement that reflected the collective efforts of all the students, and teachers, associated with the house.

The Sports Day ended with the vote of thanks given by our head girl Ms. Iniya Raja followed by the National Anthem.

The Sports Day at Hindustan International School, Padur was a grand success, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship, and physical fitness. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their talents and skills beyond academics.
