Investiture Ceremony 2024-25

The Investiture Ceremony at Hindustan International School, Padur, held on June 15, 2024, was a significant event that embodied the belief that “Leaders are not born, they are made.” This year’s ceremony marked the beginning of the academic year 2024-25 and was a testament to the school’s dedication to nurturing leadership qualities in its students. The event celebrated the appointment of the new Students’ Council, reflecting the trust and confidence placed in these young leaders. The ceremony underscored the school’s ongoing commitment to fostering the development of future leaders.

The distinguished Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Johnson Mathew, Dean of Academics, accompanied by our Principal, Ms. Susan George. The ceremony began with the Student Council members marching in, led by the Chief Guest, Principal, House Masters, and House Mistresses of the four houses. This was followed by the school prayer by Kanishka J., our former Cultural Captain. The School Choir then delivered a soul-stirring, inspirational prayer song, setting a reverent tone for the event.

Ms. Geena Nallathayappan welcomed everyone with an eloquent address, followed by the introduction of the newly elected Student Council members. The council members were then adorned with sashes and badges, symbolizing their new responsibilities by the Chief Guest and the Principal. The sight of the young leaders walking across the hall with pride was both inspiring and exhilarating. The joy of the proud parents was palpable as they witnessed their children being conferred with badges and sashes.

The Head Boy, Master Jason Paul, along with the other elected members, took the oath to uphold the school motto, “Live, Learn, Lead,” promising to honour the school’s ethos and values and to work as a team to elevate the institution to greater heights.

In his address, the chief guest Mr. Johnson Mathew congratulated the new Student Council members and urged them to undertake their duties with utmost dedication and diligence. He emphasized the importance of leadership, encouraging students to develop essential leadership skills. He cited the lion as a symbol of boldness, courage, and readiness to face challenges, stressing that a student should possess a well-formed mind ready to grow, rather than just a mind filled with facts and figures.

The Principal Ms. Susan George also commended the council members, advising them to be role models and work for the benefit of the students. She reiterated that the student council positions are about responsibility and authority, guiding them to be exemplary in their behaviour and conduct. She extended her support to the Student Council to ensure the smooth running of the school. She reminded them that they are the torch bearers of all the values that the school stands for and urged them to take responsibility with commitment and integrity.

Following her speech, Ms. Susan also felicitated the former Student Council members of 2023-24 with shields, recognizing their dedication and hard work over the past year. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Head Girl, Ms. Nethra, followed by the National Anthem.

The Investiture Ceremony of 2024-25 was a significant event, reinforcing the importance of leadership and providing our students with the opportunity to develop and display their leadership skills.
