ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

The 8th Annual Sports Day at Hindustan International School, Padur was held on 03 Aug 2024. It was an exciting and enjoyable day filled with various sports and activities.

The programme began with the arrival of the Chief Guest,Mr. Saravana Perumal, a recognized sports person and handball player. The day commenced with the Prayer Song followed by the Welcome Speech by the School Head boy Master Jason Paul. A vibrant and energetic Welcome Dance was performed by the students of Grades VI and VII. The mesmerizing performance set the tone for the day and filled the audience with excitement.

Event Highlights:

There was March Past from all the four houses. The event fostered a strong sense of house spirit and unity.It was followed by the flame lighting ceremony, in which, the torch was carried by students who have best performed in the sports competitions at different levels

Grade 1students demonstrated various asanas in yoga, exhibiting flexibility, balance, and inner peace. The display emphasized the importance of physical and mental well-being, setting a tranquil tone for the day.

Following the Yoga display, students showcased Silambam, a traditional martial art form from Tamil Nadu. With rhythmic movements and expert handling of sticks, they captivated the audience, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and the discipline involved in mastering this art.

Students of various age groups demonstrated their skills in karate in self-defense, including powerful kicks, punches, and katas. Their performance highlighted the importance of strength, speed, and precision in martial arts.

Students performed flips, somersaults, and balance exercises, showcasing their agility, strength, and coordination for gymnastics.

The students of grades 3,4 and 5 presented an SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Tableau. This creative performance depicted various global goals, through coordinated movements and props. It was an inspiring reminder of our collective responsibility towards a sustainable future.

Students worked together in perfect harmony to build a towering structure, the human pyramid demonstrating teamwork, trust, and strength.

The track and field events were the main attraction of the day. Students participated in various races, including relays, high jumps, and shot puts. The athletes exhibited their talent and athleticism, creating an electrifying atmosphere throughout the day.

The prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest to the winners to acknowledge the efforts and achievements of the participants. The winners were felicitated with medals and cups. Mahatma Gandhi House bagged the prize for March past. The overall championship was won by Nelson Mandela House. It was a remarkable achievement that reflected the collective efforts of all the students, and teachers, associated with the house.

The Sports Day ended with the vote of thanks given by our Sports Captain Mater Rishabh J followed by the National Anthem.

The Annual Sports Day was a grand success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of the students and the unwavering support of the staff and parents. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and memories to cherish
