Independence Day Celebration

AIM: To develop an understanding of India’s freedom struggle, the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and the importance of upholding democratic values. It instills in them a feeling of patriotism, solidarity and fraternity.

On August 15, our school celebrated 78th Independence Day with vibrant festivities and deep patriotic fervour. The celebration began with a formal flag hoisting ceremony led by the school principal and the Chief Guest of the day, Dr R.W Alexander Jesudasan, the Pro-VC of Hindustan Institute of Technology and Scienc, Padur,. As the national flag was hoisted, students and staff stood in solemn respect and saluted the flag,

Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, there was an impressive march-past by the students. It not only showcased the students’ ability to work together but also strengthened the sense of community within the school. The event was a testament to the commitment of both students and staff in upholding the values of discipline and teamwork.

students also exhibited their talents through a series of cultural performances. The program included singing patriotic songs and traditional dances that vividly portrayed the struggle for freedom and the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters for the cause of freedom. These performances captivated the audience and highlighted the significance of the day.

There were speeches both in Tamil and in Hindi. They reinforced the values of unity, freedom and national pride. The speeches were both inspiring and educational, emphasising the importance of contributing positively to the nation.

The Chief Guest, in his address, spoke about the significance of freedom of thought which is prevalent in the country, He exhorted the students to safeguard this freedom at any cost.

Earlier, various competitions such as essay writing, elocution and drawing were conducted with themes centered around India’s independence and heritage. These activities provided students with an opportunity to creatively express their understanding and appreciation of the nation’s history. The winners were honoured with prizes and certificates.

The celebrations came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem. The event was well-attended by parents, teachers, and students,
